Research & Development

Australian Biotechnologies was founded on research and development to produce Allografts that differentiated it, employing advanced biotechnologies, working with leading technology partners from around the world, to make the most advanced Allograft offerings available to surgeons and their patients in Australia. The aim of this research and development has always been to ensure safety whilst improving clinical efficacy.

In conjunction with our own internal research and development projects the directors and management of Australian Biotechnologies undertake some projects in conjunction with individuals and organisations (including universities and hospitals) external to Australian Biotechnologies, with a view to sharing the developed technology.

As a result of our efforts over many years, Australian Biotechnologies is now able to offer surgeons and their patients terminally sterile cortico-cancellous crunch, sterilised via our novel super critical fluid technology. This technology sets a new standard for Allograft safety whilst simultaneously doing less biomechanical and biological damage to the Allograft tissue than the competing sterilisation and bio-burden reduction techniques. The Company will continue to progress its research and development to expand the range of graft materials able to be sterilised utilising the super critical fluid technology.

Other ongoing research and development efforts include enhanced modern processing techniques toward the development of inductive Allografts in various forms.

Australian Biotechnologies is pleased to acknowledge the support of the Commonwealth of Australia, especially AusIndustry, in relation to our research and development activities.
